For the terraced cookies, knead flour, butter divided into flakes, sugar, grated lemon zest and lemon juice into a shortcrust pastry. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured work surface to about 1/2 cm thick.

Now cut out equal numbers of large and small shapes and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven at 200 °C for about 15 minutes until light brown.

Put a blob of jam on each large cookie and place the small one on top. As a decoration, also put a small blob of jam in the top center.

Then sprinkle the cookies with powdered sugar.

Preparation Tip:

If you like, you can also cover the terrace cookies with icing.
