For the Styrian bean and chicken stew, first prepare all the ingredients. Peel and finely chop the onion. Cut the chili peppers into thin rings. Clean and carve the chicken. Chop the pumpkin seeds.

In a pot, sauté the onions and chili in a little oil until translucent. Then add the rice and stir well. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Add the beans and season with the rubbed herbs and salt and a little pepper. Simmer over low heat until the rice is ready. If necessary, add a little water in between.

In the meantime, fry the chicken pieces in oil until they are cooked through. This takes about 10 minutes. Put them on paper towels to drain.
