Instructions:

A simple but delicious cake recipe:

For the dampfl, stir the crumbled yeast with a tiny bit of lukewarm milk, 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp flour. Sift the flour into a large enough bowl, make an indentation in the center and form the dampfl into it. Leave to rise for about 15 minutes. Now mix the dampfl with the flour and 1 pinch of salt, gradually add butter and milk and beat the dough with a wooden spoon until it separates from the baking bowl. Knead the risen dough, cover and rise repeatedly. Now grease a baking tray, roll out the yeast dough on it and rise repeatedly for 15 minutes. For the crumble, mix sugar with flour, melt butter, cool repeatedly and add. Crumble the amount and spread evenly on the dough sheet.

Drizzle with a tiny bit of melted butter, sprinkle with a tiny bit of sugar. Bake at medium heat in about 90 min until light yellow.

Tip:

Germ still has enough rising power when a piece tossed in warm water rises to the top. If yeast is to be kept for a few days, press it quite firmly into a small container (glass or cup), which is then turned onto a saucer filled with water.
