Instructions:

For the oatmeal pancake, mix oatmeal, flour, eggs, honey, milk, orange peel and vanilla sugar and leave to swell for at least half an hour.

Melt margarine in a pan (on low heat), pour in batter and use a wooden spatula to keep breaking up the mixture.

Fry until individual grains are formed (takes about half an hour).

While the Schmarren is frying, peel the apples, cut them into quarters and fry them briefly in some margerine in another pan.

Deglaze with a little rum and dust with cinnamon. You can additionally serve plum roast or fruit sauces with the oatmeal pancake.

Preparation Tip:

You can also use coarse flaked oats - but then the frying of the oatmeal pancake takes a little longer. With the flour you can of course also use wheat flour or e.g. rye flour.
