Instructions:

Whip the egg whites with 60 g sugar until creamy. Mix egg yolks with rum, vanilla sugar and zest of half a lemon. Mix the flour and nuts into the mixture and then fold into the beaten egg whites. Butter a baking tray and preheat the stove to 160 degrees. Use a spoon to make dumplings from the mixture and place them on the baking tray. Bake the dumplings in the oven for about 15 minutes.

In the meantime, cook the plum sauce. Cut the plums in half, put them in a saucepan with the red wine (or red grape juice), the remaining sugar and the zest of half a lemon and simmer on low heat for 5 min. Mix the cornstarch with the juice of one lemon and add to the sauce to thicken.

Arrange the dumplings on plates, sprinkle with powdered sugar and pour on the sauce.
