First, stir the oatmeal into the milk and warm both. Mix in the sliced apple as well. Then leave to swell for a few more minutes.
If you like the oatmeal sweeter, stir 1 tsp cane sugar into the warm mixture.
Season with cloves, cinnamon or cardamom – depending on your taste preference.
Finally, fold the nuts (grated or whole, as you prefer) into the oatmeal breakfast.
Preparation Tip:
Use soy milk instead of regular milk for the oatmeal breakfast with nuts. It is sweeter and so you can save the sugar.
