Heat milk in a small saucepan and dissolve butter in it. Remove saucepan from heat and let butter-milk mixture cool.
Mix flour with baking powder. Grate cheddar very finely. Wash parsley, pat dry with paper towel and chop finely.
In a bowl, beat eggs with salt, then mix in flour thoroughly. Add butter and milk mixture. Finally, mix in cheddar cheese and parsley.
Heat waffle iron and brush with oil. Pour a scoop of batter into waffle iron and bake waffle until golden brown. Remove waffle from waffle iron and keep warm. Bake another 9 waffles.
In the meantime, wash and slice tomatoes. Wash lettuce and tear into waffle-sized pieces. Wash chicken fillets, pat dry with paper towel and cut into narrow strips. Season with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a pan and fry chicken strips in it until hot. Add chili sauce and continue frying briefly over medium heat until meat is cooked through.
5 Cover waffles with hot meat, place cheese on top. Spread tomatoes and lettuce on top and cover with remaining 5 waffles. Serve waffle burgers immediately.
Preparation Tip:
It looks especially nice if you bake the waffles in a heart waffle iron and cut them into small hearts along the intermediate lines after filling. This way you get mini waffle burgers.
