Bring onions to a boil with water and instant vegetable broth. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes until onions are soft. Stir miso with 3 tablespoons water until smooth. Stir wild salmon, tofu and miso into soup. Season soup with ginger, sherry, and soy sauce and simmer 4 minutes more. Serve soup sprinkled with sesame seeds and chives.
