For the toast, first spread the toast slices with a little butter and sprinkle with herb salt and pepper to taste.
Place 2 slices of ham on each slice of toast and place 2 slices of toast cheese on each of 4 of the slices. Spread the grated cheese evenly.
Place the second slice on top and leave the toast in the oven at 170° for about 15 minutes.
